Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn’t here.
I have been suffering with IC since the beginning of 2007. After 2 years of doctor visits and being treated for chronic UTIs with no help the Urgent Care Center referred me back to my general physician. My OBGYN finally suggested I see a urologist after I actually came down with a UTI and she asked why I hadn't called to be treated for it. The urology clinic I went to considered me a low priority case since I didn't have a diagnosis and had me see their physician's assistant who was convinced I had BV even though I didn't have the symptoms for it and even though my OBGYN had specifically asked that I be tested for IC. After a year of being treated for BV with no relief he finally said he wouldn't treat me anymore unless I insisted on him doing a cystoscopy, which I did. The urologist at the office performed the cystoscopy and confirmed that I did in fact have IC and told me that if it is really serious there are some invasive procedures but if not I could just take Prosed (although he only gave me samples not an actual prescription) and sent me out the door. I was so horrified at my experience I treated at home with Prosed, Uristat and hot baths for another year until my symptoms started getting worse and my anxiety (which began developed and has progressed along with my condition) was getting so bad my quality of life was getting unbearable. I found a new urologist who I love and who has started me on a strict IC diet and has promised me that we have a lot of options and there are very few people with this condition who are unable to find relief and he knows we will be able to find some for me. I almost hugged him and I was crying in his office. I decided to create this blog to keep track of my progress and to possible provide help to others with this condition.
